😎 Utah Uranium Breakthrough

The U.S. government has approved Anfield Energy’s (TSX.V: AEC; OTCQB: ANLDF; FRANKFURT: 0AD) Velvet-Wood uranium mine in Utah following a speedy 14-day environmental review, marking the first approval under President Trump's emergency permitting process to boost domestic energy production.

Traditionally lengthy due to uranium’s environmental risks, the review was expedited under Trump’s national energy emergency declaration, which seeks to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign minerals and enhance national security.

The Velvet-Wood project, located on a previously mined site in San Juan County, will produce both uranium, used in nuclear energy and weapons, and vanadium for use in batteries and steel.

Gotta admit, we’re impressed. We’ll be even more impressed if this sticks.

😉 Trump Delays Tariffs

Gold prices slipped 0.8% to $3,329.78/oz today after U.S. President Trump extended the EU tariff deadline to July 9, easing immediate trade tensions and lowering safe-haven demand. With the U.S. and UK markets closed for holidays, trading was muted.

Despite the dip, analysts, including UBS and Citi, maintain bullish outlooks, expecting gold to retest $3,500/oz in the coming months amid geopolitical risks and ongoing tariff uncertainty.

Meanwhile, China's gold imports via Hong Kong surged in April, adding to underlying demand strength. Silver, platinum, and palladium also edged lower.
