😎 Gold Gains Momentum

Gold prices rose today and were headed for their strongest weekly gain since late March, as investors reacted to signs that the United States and Iran may be moving closer to a peace agreement.

Reuters reported that easing tensions in the Middle East helped lower oil prices and reduce fears of prolonged inflation and higher interest rates, which supported demand for bullion.

Spot gold climbed to around US$4,720 per ounce, while a weaker U.S. dollar and falling Treasury yields also boosted the metal.

Markets are now watching the upcoming U.S. employment report for clues on future Federal Reserve policy.

San Lorenzo Gold Corp. (TSXV: SLG | OTCQB: SNLGF) announced drilling results at the Arco de Oro target, Chile.

Highlights:

  • 102.3 metres of 1.33 g/t Au.

  • 37.6 metres of 2.01 g/t Au and 0.14% Cu.

  • 58.5 metres of 1.07 g/t Au, including:

    • 11.1 metres of 3.78 g/t Au.

Results from holes SAL 09-25 and SAL 10-25 on the NW extension of the Arco de Oro trend returned broad intervals of porphyry-style gold-copper mineralisation from a 3.9-kilometre step-out area.

Management said the drilling indicates a much larger mineralised system than previously interpreted, with additional assays from hole SAL 10-25 still pending at depth.
