😉 Gold Faces Headwinds
Gold prices edged higher today as a weaker US dollar and easing Treasury yields supported bullion, although the metal remained on track for a weekly loss of around 0.5%.
According to Reuters, spot gold rose 0.2% to $4,177.82 per ounce, while US gold futures climbed 0.7% to $4,199.10.
Investors are weighing stronger-than-expected US inflation data, which has increased concerns about further Federal Reserve interest-rate hikes, against expectations that policymakers may hold rates steady in October.
Lower bond yields and a softer dollar have helped gold recover from recent losses, but uncertainty over the Fed’s next move continues to limit its upside.
