📉 Gold Under Pressure

Gold fell today with spot prices slipping 0.3% to $4,013.34 per ounce, putting the metal on track for its steepest weekly decline in more than four months, down 3.6%.

Rising oil prices, fuelled by renewed tensions in the Middle East, have heightened inflation concerns and strengthened expectations that US interest rates could remain elevated for longer, reducing gold's appeal as a non-yielding asset.

Investors are now focused on the Federal Reserve's meeting next week and upcoming US inflation data, while the key $4,000-per-ounce level remains an important threshold for the market.
