😉 Gold Faces Headwinds
Gold prices edged higher today as a weaker US dollar and easing Treasury yields supported bullion, although the metal remained on track for a weekly loss of around 0.5%.
According to Reuters, spot gold rose 0.2% to $4,177.82 per ounce, while US gold futures climbed 0.7% to $4,199.10.
Investors are weighing stronger-than-expected US inflation data, which has increased concerns about further Federal Reserve interest-rate hikes, against expectations that policymakers may hold rates steady in October.
Lower bond yields and a softer dollar have helped gold recover from recent losses, but uncertainty over the Fed’s next move continues to limit its upside.
💪 Utah Skarn Intersected
BCM Resources Corporation (TSXV: B) has completed a diamond drill hole at its Thompson Knolls project in Millard County, Utah, USA.
Highlights:
304.8 metres of copper skarn mineralisation, including:
140 metres with more than 1% chalcopyrite by volume.
Copper mineralisation from 900 metres to 1,205 metres downhole in dolomitic marbles
Discontinuous sulphide mineralisation in Eureka quartzite from 1,245.4 metres
All observations are visual, and the core is being logged and sampled ahead of assays.
A geophysical survey over the project has been completed, and an inclined hole is now being drilled from the same platform to test for displaced porphyry copper and proximal skarn mineralisation.
