😉 Gold Holds Breath
Gold prices slipped today as a stronger dollar weighed on demand, with spot gold down 0.2% at $3,330.70/oz and U.S. futures 0.4% lower at $3,372.70, ahead of Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s Jackson Hole address, where investors hope for clarity on the rate outlook.
Futures markets currently price in a 71% chance of a September rate cut, though Fed officials remain divided, highlighting uncertainty amid weakening U.S. labour market data and persistent inflation risks tied to Trump’s tariffs.
Meanwhile, silver fell 0.4% to $38/oz, platinum dropped 1.3% to $1,335.31, and palladium slipped 0.2% to $1,108.59.
