Gold held near record highs around US$3,861/oz today, heading for its seventh straight weekly gain, as fears over a prolonged U.S. government shutdown and expectations of further Federal Reserve rate cuts boosted safe-haven demand.

Prices surged over 2.7% this week, following Thursday’s all-time high of US$3,896/oz, with markets now pricing in a 97% chance of a 25-bp cut in October and another in December.

Analysts see gold potentially surpassing US$4,000/oz by year-end, supported by political uncertainty, delayed economic data, and a stalled labor market.

Gold is up 47% year-to-date, while silver and platinum also advanced.

👏 Odienné Expansion

Awalé Resources Ltd. (TSXV: ARIC | OTCQX: AWLRF) reported plans for a 100,000-metre drill program at the Odienné Project, Côte d'Ivoire.

Highlights:

• 12,000 metres of discovery drilling on 100%-owned permits; funded with C$15M cash on hand.

• Up to 88,000 metres of discovery and resource definition drilling on the Odienné East JV permit through 2025–2026.

• Drilling begins October 2025, targeting BBM, Charger, and Empire zones for first resource and PEA in 2026.

Awalé plans to advance Odienné toward a Pre-Feasibility Study in 2027 and explore new permits (Sama and Seydou) to unlock further district-scale potential in Côte d'Ivoire.
