🧐 Gold Tax Fears
Gold premiums in India surged to their highest level in more than a decade as investors rushed to buy on fears of an import duty hike ahead of the February 1 union budget, even as jewellery demand remained weak.
Domestic prices hit a record 159,226 rupees per 10 grams, with dealers charging premiums of up to $112 per ounce over official prices, a sharp reversal from discounts seen last week.
The buying spree was driven by expectations that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman could raise duties after cutting gold and silver import taxes to 6% in July 2024, while in contrast, Chinese gold traded at more modest premiums as global spot prices hovered near the $5,000 per ounce mark.
😉 Cassiar Gold Rush
Cassiar Gold Corp.,(TSXV: GLDC / OTCQX: CGLCF), reported drill results at the Newcoast Regional Prospect, Cassiar Gold Project, in British Columbia, Canada.
Highlights:
15.7 metres of 3.80 g/t gold, including:
0.3 metres of 176.50 g/t Au.
22.5 metres of 3.52 g/t gold, including:
1.6 metres of 42.41 g/t Au and 1.2 metres of 51.68 g/t Au.
89.2 metres of 0.71 g/t gold, including:
43.5 metres of 1.12 g/t Au with 0.4 metres of 5.59 g/t Au.
These results extend known mineralisation at Newcoast and confirm a new visible gold-bearing quartz structure, highlighting the Cassiar Gold property’s regional potential.
The company is also evaluating mill refurbishment, tailings monetization, and a high-grade strategy to capitalise on the property’s infrastructure and historic high-grade mines.
